    WHAT TO PACK TO TRAVEL TO MONGOLIA

    When you are traveling to Mongolia ,you should pack as lightly as possible. Most travelers carry their luggage in a backpack/suitcases with wheels. Try to use something that is both lockable and water proof and also with high quality.

    It is a good idea to bring another smaller bag so that unwanted clothes can be kept in it at the hotel or camp when you go on trek.
     
    Clothes and necessary items
    If you are going to travel in summer days, it is a better to bring following clothes : Warm clothes like warm sweater with waterproof and wind protection, warm socks, sturdy hiking boots (for hiking), summer gloves (for riding horses), t-shirt, shirts, trausers, sandals, light rain coat, sunglasses, wide brimmed hat will keep the sun off your face, money belt for your valuables /travelers' cheques, passport and cash/.
     
    If you are going to travel in wintertime, Following clothes are highly recommended to wear: Warm clothes like warm sweater with waterproof and wind protection, winter snow coat, warm socks, hiking boots with waterproof (for walking in snow), warm gloves, scarf, winter hat, sunglasses and so on..
     
    If you are going to stay in tent camping, it is a better to take your sleeping bag, and warm clothes for resting in tent. For outdoor camping and camel/horse riding trips your baggage should be as the round squashy type rather than hard heavy suitcases that are difficult to fit into jeeps and on the backs of camels or horses.
     
    Every traveler needs to bring a basic medical kit & first aid kit, effective insect repellent, specially, travelers from countries with low altitude, advised to bring vitamins for crisis because of altitude changes. The average altitude in Mongolia is 1600 m above sea level. Moreover, everyone must be supplied by health insurance service in their homeland before arrival.

    All camps in countryside don't provide with disposable toiletries and hygiene supplies such as teeth paste, small soap and so on.. So, please, bring your personal items. It is advisable to bring extra films, blank audio cassettes, own private toiletries including dental floss and light towels, spare batteries for your electronic equipments, flashlight, Swiss army knife, sun block, moist tissues, cream, lip balm, notebook and pens, compass, passport photos, travel style packs with locking zippers, convenient daypack, copy of your identification, mosquito avoiding incense.

    Gifts suggestion:
    We recommend you to pack some presents from home for nomadic families in exchange for their hospitality. It can be children books, note books, pencils, stickers, matches, sweets, hair ribbons, tobacco, small bottles of perfume or small souvenirs from your country.
    Special items:
    If you are taking special interested tour, please, take your own instruments, for instance: ear plugs, fly fishing gears, camping gears, good boots, hunting weapons and so on.

    In countryside, you have long time driving in wild nature and in severe & changeable weather, so you may see no jeeps, no people, you may feel hot, sometimes cold. Please, prepare yourself for untouched wild nature and rural environment to avoid from cultural shock.

    • Money: cash/credit card in money pouch 
    • Personal medicine if you have any 
    • Wet wipes or hand sanitizing lotion
    • Day pack to carry your personal needs
