Central and Ugii lake 4 days

Itinerary

Day 1.Travel Khustai National park

Today we will go to Khustai National Park. Visit small museum of the national park, watch a short movie about wild horses and the national park. We will have opportunity to see wild horse in the nature. Khustai National Park is located in 110 km southwest of Ulaanbaatar city. Hustai was protected as a national park since 1993. It covers 50,000 hectare area and national park was known as the area of Mongolian wild horses Takhi. The Takhi is the last surviving ancestor of the modern Mongolian horses. Also known as Przewalski's wild horse, the species once roamed the steppe of Central Asia and Europe, but since 1968 it has been extinct in the wild. The Takhi re-introduction project is one part of a world-wide initiative to return the highly endangered species to its Mongolian homeland. Now there are 300 populations have been breeding in this area. Takhi is now only true wild horse left in the World The park has a bio-diversity of other rare wild animals and plants. The quantity of various ecosystems within the park assures an abundance of wildlife. Stay overnight in a Ger of nomadic family. /Lunch, Dinner/  


Day 2.Travel to Elsen Tasarkhai /Semi Gobi/

Today we will travel to the Elsen Tasarkhai. Elsen Tasarkhai is small sand dunes, 80 km long, continuously lies in the lowland of legendary KhugnuKhaan and Bat Khaan mountains. Sand dunes represents landscape, climate & ecology of Gobi desert, in this region. You will have an opportunity for a camel ride trial next to the sand dunes. Stay overnight in a Ger of nomad family. /Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner/


Day 3. Travel to Ugii Lake 

On the way you will visit Khushuut Tsaidam, a famous culture – historical site where many statues of ancient Turkish Empire were found. The KhoshoTsaidam Turkic monuments are made up of four memorial complexes, including those erected in honor of Bilge Khan, a famous politician of the Eastern Turkish Empire and KulTegin, commander-in-chief of the Turkic armed forces and younger brother of Bilge Khan . The KhoshoTsaidam memorials are the most important known archaeological remains of the Turkic Empire, which extended across Central Asia in the 6th -8th centuries AD. The unique information presented in the inscriptions on the steles located here has proven extremely valuable to the study of Central Asian history and culture; in addition, the memorial sites have supplied particular insight into the world view, religious beliefs, architecture, arts, literary development and political relations of the early Central Asian peoples. Ugii Lake is one of the biggest lakes in Mongolia and located in the Arkhangai province. It has 25.7 km squire area, average depth is 6.64m, in some sections 15.3 m and coastal length is 24.7 km. It is very  stunning place for bird watching, fishing and swimming. There are 150 sorts of extremely rare and protected  species birds of passage come to settle down on the "Ugii" lake. Also the "Ugii" lake has 14 sorts of fish belonged to the North Atlantic ocean area. Stay overnight in a Ger of nomad family. /Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner/  


Day 4. Ulaanbaatar Drive back to Ulaanbaatar /Breakfast, Lunch/
